As a longtime member in the industry, I have my fair share of experience dealing with press releases, both on the journalists’ and creators’ end. Due to my current role in the industry, I see a large amount of press releases missing important parts. So many, in fact, that you would be surprised. Honestly, a lot of the time it turns off the journalist. A well-produced and well-written press release is absolutely vital to getting the attention of the journalist. If it fails to be well-written or appear as if effort hasn’t been put into it, the journalist is likely to disregard the post. Because of this, I have decided to offer my services as a press consultant. Through this, I would provide services including, but not limited to the following:
- Producing press releases
- Contacting press organisations
- Critiquing already created press releases and providing constructive feedback about what is missing and what could be improved
- Conducting press relations, including key distribution, setting up interviews, and answering questions about the game
However, I WILL NOT write a review for you. All press release work is totally impartial, and produced with the understanding that it will not affect how I represent the production in my professional life as a journalist.
