The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth is the long awaited remake of the hit indie game that originally released in November of 2011. Announced last year, the question that Isaac fans have been asking since then is “When?!”.
This morning, in what is probably just what amounts to forgetting to click the private box on YouTube’s uploader, Nicalis leaked the release date trailer early. A mirror for this trailer can be found here, but be warned, it’s kinda terrifying.
Why does Edmund McMillan like to make scary trailers, you ask? The game developer issued this statement earlier yesterday, on the 4th of September,
“my trailers are weird because im preaching to the choir.
what i mean with the rebirth trailer for example, the only peopel (sic.) who will care about it are peopel (sic.) who know and love isaac.. so why not get weird with it and turn a few heads for people who dont know what isaac is.
id much rather people say “what the fuck did i just see” and be interested in what it was they actually did see.. then people who dont know the game saying.. that looked ok.
my games dont sell well with video, they need to be played to full appriciate (sic.) them so i get weird with my trailers because its just more fun. “
If you own the original game, Rebirth will cost $10, but for those that don’t will have to pay the full price of $15
Featuring over 500 hours of gameplay, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is set to release on November 4th, 2014 for the PC, PS4, and PS Vita, as well as Linux and Mac machines.
